Organized by Faculty of Design & Architecture, UPM with theme ; Green Land ..Blue Sky.

Professor Ismawi, an academician with experience in landscape architecture and planning issue set the colloquium tone with his experience in Makkah.
Currently he join the panel that advised Kingdom of Saudi in planning the latest expansion of Masjidil Haram; a controversial project if we saw what been develop right to edge of Kaaba.
But after giving the philosophy behind the work, truly the Kingdom really take all right step to accommodate the pilgrim during Haj season.
Mukhlis Nor, most people will remember him as songwriter of Hijau; sung by Zainal Abidin during 90s which saw a brief 'green movement' in Malaysia.
He share his experience in writing the lyric during summer of 80s, in between his landscape architecture studio time and class of history, reading industrial revolution in Europe.
He realized, as young student of landscape architecture at that time, green will face extinction due to pace of modernization, similar to Europe during 1880s.
And lastly Dato LAT, sharing his yesteryear experience as kampung boy. Years as cartoonist has taught him to be honest with his comic, reflecting true Malaysian lifestyle that worth for us to ponder. Where was once vast house compound for kids to run around, nowadays just a small patch green we call laman.
He agreed, we already pay dearly for modernization, but yet we still need to add value for money for that process.
