The Basis of 2012 ; Cost of Climate Change is 1 billion euro per head?

Just imagine you have been inform that the super flood that swallow Noah in ancient time will be back, this time with a vengeance. And you will be offer a seat aboard the super duper ark with cool price tag, 1 billion euro !

Study shows that if government around the world start doing something to avert global scale climate change, the multi billion dollar cost of nature rehabilitation will provide better avenue for world's poor to improve their standard of living.

Benefits from reforestation work will improve soil stabilization, quality freshwater, source of nutrients, eco-tourism opportunities and food, fuel and fiber, which will benefit the affected communities around the world.

For example, if we spend 170 billion USD annually on coral reef ecosystem , half a billion people around the world will benefit ranging from coastal defense against nature element and fish nurseries.

The Economy of Ecosystem & Biodiversity (TEEB) has study the impact of coral reef industry

Coral reefs are now understood to have a critical range of ecosystem service values - for natural hazard
management (up to 189,000 us$/hectare/year), tourism (up to 1 million us$/hectare/year), genetic ma-
terials and bio-prospecting (up to 57,000 us$/ha/year), fisheries (up to 3,818 us$/ha/year). These be-
nefits are site-specific – so a global loss of coral reefs will impact communities differently

Furthermore, by spending on world ecosystem, the twin benefit of green economy and carbon footprint surely provide better result than building huge station to capture carbon in our atmosphere.
